Precision polishing for crucibles, moulds, and laboratory labware. All-diamond dry film process from 25µm to 0.25µm. myPalletizer 260 cobot automation. Designed and built in Australia.

Up / Down
Spindle vertical travel. Plunges into bore, traverses along internal profile.
Y Axis
In / Out
Spindle toward or away from chuck centreline. Controls radial contact pressure.
X Axis
Left / Right
Cross feed and ATC traverse. Positions spindle over each tool station.
A Axis
Tilt
Trunnion tilt ±30°. Presents bore chamfers, corner radii, and tapered sidewalls to the tool.
C Axis
Rotation
Chuck spin 0–1,200 RPM. Rotates workpiece continuously during polishing for uniform finish.

Coarse Grind — 30µm

LAM PLAN Diamond HC 30µm on Ø30mm disc holder. Vacuum ON for precious metal swarf capture. Removes macro irregularities and establishes bore geometry.

05D 30A0 2005 — Green

Fine Grind — 15µm

LAM PLAN Diamond HC 15µm on Ø30mm disc. Refines scratch pattern from T1. Each step is 2–5× finer — the standard metallographic stepping rule for consistent material removal.

Pre-Polish — 3µm

LAM PLAN Diamond HC 3µm on Ø18mm disc. Smaller disc accesses corner radii and base zones. Achieves Ra ~20nm pre-polish surface.

LAM PLAN Diamond HC 0.5µm on Ø18mm disc. Surface finish target Ra <0.25µm. Ra <5nm on PtAu alloy. Dimple exclusion zone maintained throughout.

Platinum Group Metal Recovery

Dry process enables direct swarf capture from PtAu, PtRh, and pure Pt crucibles. HEPA filter collection — no precious metal lost to wet waste.

XRF Fusion Crucibles

Claisse BiS and equivalent PtAu crucibles polished to mirror finish without touching the base dimple. Extends crucible service life significantly.

Precious Metal Refining

Moulds and crucibles used in gold, silver, and platinum refining operations. Consistent bore finish reduces contamination between pours.

Catalyst Preparation

Laboratory crucibles used in catalyst synthesis where internal surface condition affects reaction yield and product purity.

Research & Development

University and industrial R&D labs requiring consistent, reproducible surface finish on small batch labware without manual polishing variability.

High Precision Surface Finishing

Any axis-symmetric bore requiring Ra <10nm finish in a lights-out automated environment. Custom recipes per geometry and material.
